Peanut Underground is pleased to present Berlin based artist Saskia Hahn’s inaugural New York exhibition $ASKIA : ICONS!?. New paintings, silkscreens and video.
The exhibition examines the spectacle of voyeurism. Drawing on the aesthetics of rock, punk, and pop art, and she comments on the evolving concept of artistic authenticity and the culture of the gaze through an examination of the epic nature of the rock and roll musician.
Saskia, a self taught artist, was inspired to take her visual art to the next level in 2010 after headlining Art Basel Miami Beach while on tour with the musician and performance artist Peaches. A painter, musician and experimenter since her childhood, Saskia was fascinated by this immersive experience.
She currently collaborates with her partner Marc-Alan Gray on a new music project called Mine&Hers and has exhibited work in New York, London, Berlin and has performed globally.
