PDA
dancelovesart is a series of nomadic dance acts, installations, and video and
performance interactions taking place in and around Art Basel Miami Beach.
dancelovesart will be hosted by Morgans Miami properties with daily performances
and dance installations in the pools and onsite at Mondrian, Shore Club and
Delano
Sunsets December 4 l 5 l 6 2009, 4 - 6pm.
Dancelovesart will also host PDA, a
one-off public art performance, culminating in a public art dance project - “peace dance art”.
PDA is a public display of art & dance performance in the
ocean that will engage
visitors to Art Basel, dancers and locals alike in
a group dance sequence. Our
collective physical presence will be in
collaboration with charity
Peace One Day and the Environmental Coalition of
Miami Beach.
Everyone is invited to participate in this motion
in the ocean - the PDA “wave” from Delano to the Shore Club. We will
create a human sculpture and symbol of peace that will be
photographed from the
air creating an iconic image and message from south beach during Art Basel.
Be one of 5,000 people to create this
collective symbol and
to celebrate unity, peace and the planet.
Meet at noon on Saturday 5 December on the Delano
Beach Front;
the performance starts at 1pm – Ben & Jerry’s Toast at Shoreclub to follow.
Morgans Hotel Group is proud to offer the local
dance community a platform to showcase their work and would like to thank
dance partners IN motion, Focal Point & Nobodies Crew.

In
harmony with this project, Morgans hotel group has commissioned artist Blair Chivers
to create an unlimited edition of temporary tattoos to be employed as a
positive
public message in support of PDA.
What
could be a better metaphor for life or a public art
project? A meaningful
moment that washes away. The vision/mission of Mr. Blair Chivers'
tattoos (and
all his art) is to fuse joy and meaning in simple and groovy products.
