From July 11 to 13, works by more than 130 video artists from around the world will be screened in a three-salon venue format, accompanied by nightly DJ and V(ideo)J performances (see program). New media groups will be presenting selections of works by globally recognized artists, in simultaneous sessions lasting approximately 50 minutes each. The rest of the show will expose younger talent as part of an Open Call competition, the prize for which is a one-week stay for two at the Ámister Hotel in Barcelona.

VIDEOAKT is a co-initiative of Irene Pascual, artist and director of the GlogauAIR Art Center Berlin, and Angie Bonino, artist and independent curator of new media based in Barcelona. Its collaborators include international organisations such as VIDEOFEST - Festival of Video of San Francisco; Latin American Biennial< /strong> “Inquieta Imagen”; VIDEOARTWORLD; LiminalB, and INTRANSITos, among others.

The purpose of the show is to open up an international space for authors of video to showcase the wide range and variety of languages being used in the art form today. You are also invited to attend a brunch held on Sunday July 13, at 3.00 pm in the GlogauAIR garden.
