Lilly Public Beta is ready !

Well it's a red-letter week for web software, the public beta of Lilly has finally been released which means all of us who drooled over it can now finally play with it. If that was not enough, the long awaited (2.5 years) release of Joomla 1.5 has finally been made it out of beta and into what they are calling "Joomla! 1.5 Stable [Khepri]".
For full details see http://www.lilyapp.org
and http://www.joomla.org
[PAM] goofed around with a version of Bill Orcutt's mysql object for Max/MSP Jitter. Which was amazing but was abandoned by Bill to peruse Lilly. We forgave him as loadbang.net released a JAVA based mysql object that was just as good.
Think of Lilly as MAX/MSP/Jitter for Websites in terms of it's ability to build applications in a graphic environment. It's pretty cool. There isn't 1 to 1 translation of MAX/MSP Jitter
objects to or from Lilly but we think you'll see the immediate similarities and possibilities for good old fashion creative fun.
As for Joomla 1.5, there are some amazing features and it represents a quantum leap forward in it's architecture and code base. Think cool ALAX stuff, SEO out of the box, clean URLS and strong meta data tools, LDAP, and numerous other changes that will be an added welcome.
[PAM] has been using Joomla 1.10 with many hacks and tweaks under the hood and has held off upgrading because it has been so stable. Believe it or not, in the 2 years [PAM] that has been online we've only been dark for all of about 5 minutes and that was due to an outage at our data center. If it isn't broke don't fix it, but now that a new version of Joomla is out we can expect to see some much needed improvements to the web site.
Next up ?
Max 5 !
