Deadline: February 13, 2008
The Jerome Foundation Travel and Study Grant Program awards grants to emerging creative artists in Minnesota and New York City. Funds support periods of travel for the purpose of study, exploration, and growth.
The 2008 Travel and Study Grant Program will support artists working in literature, film/video, and dance. (In 2009, artists working in music, theater, and visual arts will be eligible to apply.) In literature, writers of poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, spoken word may apply. In film, film and video directors may apply. In dance, choreographers may apply. Minnesota-based executive and program administrators working for nonprofit arts organizations in literature, film/video, or dance are also eligible to apply due to a specific contribution for that category.
Grants of up to $1,500 each will be awarded for short-term travel of three to six days. Grants of up to $5,000 each will be awarded for trips of one week or longer. The program is designed to support individuals rather than organizations. Multiple-person partnerships may apply on one application form if the monies requested do not exceed $5,000.
Applicants must live in Minnesota or one of the five boroughs of New
York City at the time of application and must have lived in that
location at least one year prior to the application deadline.
