Does [PAM] offer awards ? PDF Print E-mail
Written by Perpetual Art Machine

There are no awards program for the amount a video is viewed on line, or how often, or the most videos contributed by a member and so on.

To date [PAM] has never offered any such incentives or awards of the kind. Neither the artists or the organizers of this web site receive any awards, incentives, or compensation for any visitor traffic, click through rates, banner scams or otherwise You will also not find commercial banners add programs such as Google AdSense or similar money making annoyances commonly found on other web sites .

However, In February 2007 [PAM] sanctioned the "Viewers Choice Award" whereby we allowed anyone to vote on a video artwork which they thought was the best. **

The voting was conducted in a blog format. You may view the link here where the action took place:

The winner received a exclusive spot along side the featured CinemaScope programing for the Scope New York 2007 art fair. We felt this would be a first in the commercial art fair market where space and time is "money" thereby offering something of high value for free based on the publics choice.

** We held an impromptu warm up weeks before the award was run when one of the artists on this web site posted a video that inspired us all and posed the question "what if we attempt such a thing".  We believe that's democracy in action and that's just one of many things that can result from art that inspires.
