Choose the best tools for the job Written by perpetua on 2007-06-02 12:21:53 Dave, We agree about not being unique but as far as we know NONCONFORMIST is not a new word. Jitter is our primary exhibition tool because it allows us to push the limits of our hardware and do what would otherwise be impossible for ALL other off the shelf software. It's a software package fairly unique in a landscape cluttered with a bunch of closed solutions. Simply put if, you can imagine it, Jitter will allow you to do it (within limits). It would be unfair to compare it nuts and bolts to something like FCP but if you really looked around at this site the main concerns are editing compositing and sound design and it can be easily stated that a good majority are using or rather CONFORMING, but with good reasons, the same software packages to accomplish their goals. Also, and more importantly Jitter is nothing until you tell it to be something and in that respect it's almost impossible be a lemming. If you don't like Jitter there is always GEM and PD, and a million other similar (architecturally speaking) software packages. But again they are all designed with a work-flow and toll sets that allow one to do things their own way. Quote:
What is Jitter? I don't even care. I want to stay Jitter-free. Here's a very UGLY OLD word : Biased Here's another one: Uniformed Dave, thanks for contributing. We like maverick attitudes around here. We love to hear more from you Cheers [PAM]
