We are happy to announce that [PAM] has been selected as part
of 89 works and artistic projects
to be shown during the WRO 07 competition (16-20 May 2007). The works
were selected by the WRO Art Center preselection jury from 1500 entries
from over 60 countries. The competition finale takes place on 20th May
2007 in Wrocław (first prize: 5000 euro; 8000 euro total prizes).
The
jurors are:
Dorota Monkiewicz (curator, National Museum, Warsaw, president of Polish Section of AICA),
John Thomson (curator, Electronic Arts Intermix, New York),
Jan Schujiren (independent curator, The Netherlands),
Elias Levin (curator, Transitio mx 02, Mexico).
The prize-winning and participating in the competition works and
projects will be presented until 17 June 2007 at a Biennale exhibition
in the National Museum, Wrocław, and in the WRO Art Centre.
The 89 works that have been qualified for the competition include:
56 screenings,
15 installations and objects,
6 performances,
10 websites and interactive applications,
2 self-generated software/hardware works.
The works originate from UK (11 works), USA (11), Germany (8), France
(7), Poland (7), Austria (5), Japan (4), China (3), Spain (3), The
Netherlands (2), Canada (2), South Korea (2), Chile (1), Estonia (1),
Colombia (1), Luxembourg (1), Norway (1), Portugal (1), Romania (1),
Slovakia (1), Switzerland (1), Uruguay (1) and Italy (1). Some of the
works are international collaborations.
