... Dear PAM. After watching the progress of your "contest" for several days, I am appalled to find that there has been no winner declared even though the Scope Art Fair is nearly over, the press has come and gone and at this late date, all benefits to the "winner" of the contest have been lost. It is strange that you folks have not found a way to count the votes as yet, though even I can spend a few minutes, scroll down through the votes, try to be fair when there is a question, eliminate the extraneous comments from actual votes and come up with a winner. Alexander Reyna won by 9 votes by my tally ( and I did not count his first "vote" for himself) with 87, Amelia W-B had 78 and Hakan had something like 35 with many more votes scattered throughout for other video artist. Several people and I were excited about this contest and really wanted to have the winner have a chance for serious representation at Scope. Also, around 15 high tech engineers with one large communications firm viewed several of the videos, and all voted for Mr. Reyna with comments attached by many (See list of Guests that starts just before and/or after Carla g. and particularly the comment " two thumbs up ......" ) Given the subject matter, this was a real concern after some of these people viewed the videos at work and sexual explicitness and extreme violence are huge no, no's in the corporate world. But, these people wanted to vote when they saw the obvious artistic merit in Beta 2005. So what happened? We are all waiting for a reply and an explanation. Thanks. |

Final votes. We @ PAM are going through the votes currently and will be making an announcement soon after we have had a chance to go over the guest votes. Any tie will be broken by deciding votes by the PAM founders. May the best artist win. |

Suggestion Hi, It looks like three artist got the most of votes: Reyna, Winger and me Works which have three different qualities... I think all of them can be shown rotativly on the big screen at Scope NY... This rotative show would even highlight the PAW portals rich variation. What do you think? (My suggestion will remain even if i win the vote) |

In all fairness something like this was Zanders idea. BUT THIS RACE IS NOT OVER !!! 9 hours left ! Historically speaking...He wanted to do "Video Death Match"...like a video duel with multiple rounds We will do that in the near future and hang it on the front page with a really easy vote check box. The Viewers Choice Award is more or less a scope thing only for now. It goes hand-in-hand with their motto of "turning viewers in to users"... meaning it's art for the people and by the people. It demystifes the whole art fair process...Something that [PAM] does to on a much broader sense as the project in not limited to art fairs. BTW- Reports are the the Scope Exhibition floor at the Lincoln Center is the best layout and space they ever had. Hat's off to Jordan and Alexsis for pulling it off again...just a couble of months after their huge Miami Spectecle. see you all soon - we will be emailing out passes to the show -[PAM] |
