Althernate Title: Letting the Cat Out of the Bag
Sources at Engadget and Think Secret have confirmed Apple's forthcoming "true" video iPod which will feature a 4-inch display with a quarter-inch border, allowing the device to maintain dimensions typical of previous iPods. More importantly the new video iPod will have no mechanical surface controls, instead opting for a multi gesture, finger and motion lcd touch screen.
[PAM[ of course is very instested in these develpoment for two reasons:
One, we'd like to get our hands on some of the technology behind this gadget. We'd love to be able feature this technology in our next installation of the [PAM] prototype (July 2006). Some deeper digging on Apple's muti getsure LCD technology patent reveals , (Apple Patent Link 2) some other companies such as Mitsubishi have been working on similar issues. Regardless, we want to talk to these people for obvious reasons.
Two, we're thinking PODCAST in a BIG WAY. [PAM] wants to be the first "Video Art" podcast in iTunes featuring all [PAM] artists.(We'll settle for second or third, hell, we just want to be on the list and category if it ever gets created) More on that latter, but we can tell you that we are finishing our LoudBlog component on this site to vblog and podcast our artist's videos. We will have a formal announcement soon. In the meantime we'll be contacting some artist individually to seed the pilot program. Stay tuned !!!
