At the moment of the ceremony that closes each edition, the program recognizes and awards grants to independent labels and artists.

Today Qwartz has assembled 3,000 labels and 10,000 artists. The prizes honor all aspects of contemporary artistic creation: music, audiovisual and graphics, instruments, technological innovation, festivals, media, and new media arts.

The 7th edition was launched in June 2010. Alva Noto returns this year as Honorary President.
