| Short Bio: |
Jenna Caschera grew
up in Commerce Township, Michigan. She has been living in Kalamazoo,
Michigan since the fall of 2004. In the spring of 2008, she will
receive a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in Photography &
Intermedia and a Bachelor of Arts in English-Creative Writing from Western
Michigan University.
Through
poetry and visual art, she explores the functions of the human body and
mind by separating and objectifying their qualities, and uniting them
as well. Recently, she has began to explore the theory of Feminism while reading the works of Simone de Beauvoir. Jenna works with alternative photographic processes such as the
Van Dyke Brown print, installation, and video. She has exhibited
through out the Kalamazoo community, including Vines Grow on the Body at the Park Trades Center during December 2006 Kalamazoo Art Hop, Atlas of Our Human Anatomy at the Richmond Center for Visual Arts in November of 2007 and The Other F Word: A Feminist Critique in February 2008.
After graduting in April, she plans on settling in Kalamazoo for a few years prior to attending graduate school. There she will continue to work and exhibit her art.
