Guadalupe Arango Ramos
She was born in 1975 in Lima, Peru. She studied Fine Arts in her country and continued her studies in Spain. She has exhibited her work in a number of cultural and artistic institutions in Peru and in Spain. She has been living in this country for five years now and conducts research and creates artistic projects that raise awareness about the social impact of immigration in the lives of immigrants. She has conducted these projects for non-profit organizations, foundations and various institutions related to this profile.
Her work as a visual artist is based on her research about identity, nation and the otherness, the contact of human beings with their vital spaces, the poetics of space, reterritorialization and resistance. As an artist, Guadalupe prefers a multidisciplinary approach using photography, painting, experimental audio, video installations and cartography.
She is currently working on projects concerning the socio-cultural contributions generated by the vital demographic movements produced by immigration.
