I am a multimedia artist who uses photography, video, installation,
graphics, performance and text to creatively investigate migration and
globalization. I am interested in articulating conceptual ideas
regarding our society into a thought provoking critical language. The
concept and the presentation/realization are inherently tied to one
another to create provocative work. I describe my practice as a
combination between the documentary and the fine arts. My work is
layered with theatrical-like imagery and challenges social and artistic
conventions with drama, humor, and irony. One of my main goals as an
artist is to achieve a social and political commentary in my work. I
strongly believe that art can help or be a catalyst for discussions
that may lead to better understanding (and the possibility of change)
in human relations.
