Paul Wallace is an artist who currently attends Brown University. Born in Baltimore in the 80s, Paul loves music made by synthesizers. He has lived and worked in LA, New York, New Orleans, Providence, and Prague, showing his work both locally and internationally. He began making art videos at a young age, but this was only by mistake. Paul thought it was normal to do weird things and film them. After learning this was socially awkward, he christened himself an artist. Upon matriculation to Brown University his work branched out into film, sculpture, and video installation. A semiotician by trade, Paul’s work circulates around a semiotic spirituality focusing on the physiological and psychoanalytic structures of language, desire, and faith. He is also a self-published author, if you count rice paper bound with twine as publishing. In addition to his own work, Paul was involved in The Euphoria Project and was the director of photography on the Port Huron Project; he refuses to work on anything not ending in “Project.” Paul is currently working on a new series of sculptures and video installations entitled Lifting the Lack, a “project” that combines his two greatest passions: cognitive neuroscience and strength athletics. Paul graciously thanks his parents for their unending love and support. Visit www.theworkofpaulwallace.com for more.
